In the early morning of September 1st (Old Style) our Metropolitan Makarios of Toronto reposed in the Lord peacefully of natural causes. He had spent the last year of his life at the Holy Theotokos Convent, being cared for by the sisters and visited by the faithful. Upon hearing the news of his repose, without delay Archbishop Makarios and Bishops from Greece traveled to attend his funeral and be with him and all the faithful for his farewell and burial.
